Inner Balance vs. Allara vs. Vitality: Comparing Women's Hormone Care

Inner Balance, Allara Health, and Vitality Modern Medicine all offer online care connected to women's hormonal health, but they are not interchangeable services. The useful comparison starts with what you want evaluated, how care is delivered, and which costs are included — not which website makes the biggest promise.

Inner Balance: a treatment-centered offering
Inner Balance's FAQ presents Oestra as a daily vaginal cream containing estradiol and progesterone and describes doctor-supervised care. It also states that no lab work is required to start. These are descriptions of that company's offering, not a recommendation that everyone needs the product or should skip testing.
If you are interested in that approach, ask how eligibility is assessed, which clinician reviews your history, whether a live visit is part of your plan, and what happens if the treatment is unsuitable. Marketing descriptions of absorption, safety, or hormone conversion should not be treated as proof of better outcomes.
Allara: medical and nutrition care together
Allara's FAQ describes care for conditions including PCOS, insulin resistance, endometriosis, hypothyroidism, and menopause. Its model includes a medical provider and registered dietitian, with regularly scheduled video visits and laboratory testing used to inform the plan.
That makes medical-plus-nutrition care an important point of comparison if that combination is what you want. Allara's insurance page lists in-network relationships in some states and self-pay programs; whether your own visits are covered depends on your plan and location.
Vitality: labs before your treatment discussion
Vitality's online hormone pathway begins with enrollment, clinical intake and consents through a secure, HIPAA-compliant patient portal, and provider review. Ordered labs are completed before the telehealth consultation. Once results are received, the care team calls to schedule the results-review visit; patients do not receive a self-booking link for that appointment.
The evaluation is a chance to discuss symptoms, history, results, and whether treatment is appropriate. It is not an automatic prescription. Vitality also offers in-person care in Upland, with a separate Tebra booking pathway and separate clinic pricing.
Vitality's prices are the same for men and women
Using insurance for labs: $299 initial evaluation · $99/month ongoing care. Your initial fee includes your clinical evaluation and a telehealth visit to review your lab results and discuss your treatment plan. Ongoing care includes hormone management, prescription adjustments when appropriate, secure portal support, and a telehealth review after monitoring labs every four months. Monthly management billing begins one month after you enroll and renews monthly until cancelled. Labs are sent to either Quest or Labcorp depending on your insurance coverage, and are billed separately to your insurance. Deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and noncovered testing may apply. Our evaluation and management fees are paid directly to Vitality.
No insurance? Choose labs-included care: $399 initial evaluation + core labs · $149/month ongoing care. Your initial fee includes your clinical evaluation, initial core laboratory panel, and a telehealth visit to review your results and discuss your treatment plan. Ongoing care includes hormone management, prescription adjustments when appropriate, secure portal support, and a core monitoring panel followed by a telehealth review every four months. Monthly management billing begins one month after you enroll and renews monthly until cancelled. No insurance is required. Patients with insurance may also select this option. Expanded or additional testing is priced separately.
The initial payment is a one-time evaluation fee. Ongoing monthly management is offered after the consultation and requires your explicit consent; paying for an evaluation does not automatically start a monthly plan or guarantee treatment. Under both pathways, prescribed medications are paid separately to the pharmacy. Some compounded prescriptions require a designated compounding pharmacy. Insurance coverage and savings are not guaranteed.
Some recommended prescriptions are available only through a compounding pharmacy, not a commercial retail pharmacy. Compounded testosterone-support prescriptions such as enclomiphene cost extra and are not covered by insurance under this program. HSA reimbursement may be available for eligible prescribed expenses; confirm eligibility and documentation requirements with your HSA administrator. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as finished products.
The initial core panel is separate from ongoing monitoring. The labs-included monthly option includes one routine core monitoring panel every four months, or three per year. Expanded testing is priced separately and disclosed before you agree.
Which model fits what you are looking for?
- If you are considering Oestra specifically, clarify Inner Balance's evaluation and follow-up arrangements.
- If you want medical care alongside registered-dietitian visits, examine Allara's complete-care options and your insurance eligibility.
- If you want Vitality's lab-first hormone evaluation, check the two lab payment pathways and whether you are in an eligible state.
- For each practice, ask what happens if no medication is recommended, how ongoing billing begins, and what is charged separately. Do not assume the policies are the same.
Check location before you pay
Vitality's online care is currently available only to patients located in California, Colorado, Nevada, or Arizona. The online enrollment page asks you to confirm your location before showing the secure patient-portal form. Check each competitor's current state eligibility separately; do not assume that online care is available everywhere.
About this comparison
This comparison is published by Vitality Modern Medicine, one of the practices being compared. It is not an independent review, a report of personal treatment experience, or a ranking of clinical outcomes. Competitor details are drawn from the official pages linked below, checked October 12, 2026. Offerings, eligibility, and coverage can change.
Exact competitor prices are intentionally omitted. Request a current cost breakdown from each practice covering visits, membership fees, labs, medication, and any additional services before deciding. The presence or absence of a particular lab requirement does not, by itself, establish that one program is safer or more effective.
