Allara vs. Vitality: Insurance, Nutrition Support, and Hormone Care Costs

Woman reviewing documents at a kitchen table with fruit and water

Allara Health and Vitality Modern Medicine use different models for women's online care. Allara combines medical and nutrition support and lists in-network insurance options in some states. Vitality's hormone evaluation and management fees are direct-pay, with a separate choice about how laboratory testing is paid for. Understanding that distinction helps you compare the bill you might actually receive.

Insurance for visits is different from insurance for labs

Allara's insurance and pricing page lists in-network insurance relationships in some states, along with self-pay options. It explains that copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles may still apply. Confirm the eligibility of your specific plan and the care you intend to receive; an insurer's name on a website is not a coverage guarantee.

At Vitality, using insurance for labs does not turn the clinical fees into insurance copays. You pay the initial evaluation and monthly management fees directly. Under the insurance-lab pathway, orders are sent to Quest or Labcorp depending on insurance coverage, and the laboratory bills your insurance separately. Your plan may leave you responsible for some or all laboratory charges.

What the care team includes

Allara's FAQ describes a dedicated medical provider and registered dietitian, with regularly scheduled video visits. It lists care for hormonal, metabolic, and gynecological conditions including PCOS, insulin resistance, endometriosis, hypothyroidism, and menopause, using laboratory work and an individualized plan.

Vitality's online hormone-care program is provider-led and includes an evaluation and telehealth lab review with Corinne Curran, FNP-C. A registered-dietitian program is not listed among its confirmed hormone-care inclusions. If nutrition visits are a priority, ask exactly which professional you will see and which visits are included in the option you choose.

Vitality's prices are the same for men and women

Using insurance for labs: $299 initial evaluation · $99/month ongoing care. Your initial fee includes your clinical evaluation and a telehealth visit to review your lab results and discuss your treatment plan. Ongoing care includes hormone management, prescription adjustments when appropriate, secure portal support, and a telehealth review after monitoring labs every four months. Monthly management billing begins one month after you enroll and renews monthly until cancelled. Labs are sent to either Quest or Labcorp depending on your insurance coverage, and are billed separately to your insurance. Deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and noncovered testing may apply. Our evaluation and management fees are paid directly to Vitality.

No insurance? Choose labs-included care: $399 initial evaluation + core labs · $149/month ongoing care. Your initial fee includes your clinical evaluation, initial core laboratory panel, and a telehealth visit to review your results and discuss your treatment plan. Ongoing care includes hormone management, prescription adjustments when appropriate, secure portal support, and a core monitoring panel followed by a telehealth review every four months. Monthly management billing begins one month after you enroll and renews monthly until cancelled. No insurance is required. Patients with insurance may also select this option. Expanded or additional testing is priced separately.

The initial payment is a one-time evaluation fee. Ongoing monthly management is offered after the consultation and requires your explicit consent; paying for an evaluation does not automatically start a monthly plan or guarantee treatment. Under both pathways, prescribed medications are paid separately to the pharmacy. Some compounded prescriptions require a designated compounding pharmacy. Insurance coverage and savings are not guaranteed.

Some recommended prescriptions are available only through a compounding pharmacy, not a commercial retail pharmacy. Compounded testosterone-support prescriptions such as enclomiphene cost extra and are not covered by insurance under this program. HSA reimbursement may be available for eligible prescribed expenses; confirm eligibility and documentation requirements with your HSA administrator. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as finished products.

The initial core panel is separate from ongoing monitoring. The labs-included monthly option includes one routine core monitoring panel every four months, or three per year. Expanded testing is priced separately and disclosed before you agree.

Medication costs need their own comparison

Allara describes medication as a possible part of the individualized plan. Before enrolling, ask which prescriptions are being considered, where they will be filled, and how pharmacy benefits or cash-pay charges apply. This article does not assume medication or laboratory costs are included in an Allara membership.

Vitality's hormone medications are paid separately at the pharmacy under both payment pathways. Prescriptions are sent only when clinically appropriate. You may use prescription insurance or compare cash and discount prices, but neither coverage nor savings can be promised.

How the Vitality evaluation works

  • Choose your program: Explore your program, confirm your state, and enroll through a secure, HIPAA-compliant patient portal. Complete your clinical intake and consent forms for provider review.
  • Complete your labs: After provider review, you receive your lab orders. Complete your labs so your provider can review your results.
  • Meet with your provider: Once your lab results are received, our care team will call you to schedule a telehealth visit with Corinne Curran, FNP-C, to discuss your results, symptoms, goals, and treatment options.
  • Start your personalized plan: If appropriate, begin your prescribed plan and choose ongoing monthly management, with your explicit consent. Medications are paid separately at the pharmacy.

Questions to ask before choosing

  • Does my insurance cover the specific provider, visit type, and location — not just the company name?
  • Are nutrition appointments part of the program I am selecting?
  • Which initial and monitoring labs are included, billed to insurance, or paid in cash?
  • What will I pay for medication separately?
  • How are follow-up visits arranged, and how do I contact the team between visits?
  • If treatment is not recommended, what fees and cancellation terms apply?

Check location before you pay

Vitality's online care is currently available only to patients located in California, Colorado, Nevada, or Arizona. The online enrollment page asks you to confirm your location before showing the secure patient-portal form. Check each competitor's current state eligibility separately; do not assume that online care is available everywhere.

About this comparison

This comparison is published by Vitality Modern Medicine, one of the practices being compared. It is not an independent review, a report of personal treatment experience, or a ranking of clinical outcomes. Competitor details are drawn from the official pages linked below, checked October 12, 2026. Offerings, eligibility, and coverage can change.

Exact competitor prices are intentionally omitted. Request a current cost breakdown from each practice covering visits, membership fees, labs, medication, and any additional services before deciding. The presence or absence of a particular lab requirement does not, by itself, establish that one program is safer or more effective.
