Vitality Modern Medicine vs. Hims: Comparing Online Men's Hormone Care

Hims is one of the best-known consumer telehealth brands, with a broad catalogue across several categories. Vitality Modern Medicine is a smaller, provider-led practice focused on hormone and longevity care. Those are different propositions, and the right choice depends on what you want from the relationship.

Breadth versus focus
A broad catalogue can be convenient if you want several services in one account. A focused practice concentrates on a narrower set of programs with a defined monitoring structure. Neither is automatically better; they suit different people.
What to compare
- Whether a licensed provider reviews your intake and labs individually
- Whether laboratory monitoring is included, and at what cadence
- Whether medication and shipping are in the monthly price
- Whether lab results are reviewed with you
- Access to your provider between visits
- Whether more than one treatment pathway is available
What Vitality includes
Men's and women's online hormone care have the same prices: Using insurance for labs: $299 initial evaluation · $99/month ongoing care. No insurance? Choose labs-included care: $399 initial evaluation + core labs · $149/month ongoing care. Clinical fees are direct-pay. Insurance-pathway lab charges are billed separately by Quest or Labcorp depending on coverage. The cash-pay pathway includes the initial core panel and, during ongoing care, one routine core monitoring panel every four months. Medications are paid separately at the pharmacy. Ongoing monthly management is offered after consultation with explicit consent, and monthly billing begins one month after enrollment. Expanded testing is priced separately and disclosed before agreement.
Some recommended prescriptions are available only through a compounding pharmacy, not a commercial retail pharmacy. Compounded testosterone-support prescriptions such as enclomiphene cost extra and are not covered by insurance under this program. HSA reimbursement may be available for eligible prescribed expenses; confirm eligibility and documentation requirements with your HSA administrator. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as finished products.
Enrolling in a program is not a guarantee of any prescription. Treatment is prescribed only when a Vitality provider determines it is medically appropriate.
